How to Create a Winter Sanctuary in Your Home

As we start to feel the temperatures drop, and begin to transition into the winter months, we try and create a cozier space within our home. This year more than ever it is important to create a warm space for you and your family. After all you will probably find yourself spending even more time together at home this winter.

Here are some ways to create a warm space in your home this Winter season.

Highlight your natural design elements and materials.  When it comes to natural design materials incorporating leathers, woods, and woven materials to your space is a great way to add warmth. As you know we love a neutral color palette! Adding natural textural pieces to your décor will not only keep a neutral color palette, but will also help accentuate the appearance of warmth within your space.

Keeping a neutral color palette. A neutral color palette in your space helps when transitioning décor pieces throughout the seasons. The easiest way to transition your home from season to season is by switching out your décor elements. By keeping a neutral color palette this allows you to play with bolder pieces depending on the season.

Don’t forget your finishing touches. Your finishing touches help create your space and will make all of the difference. It could be something as simple as adding Holiday scented candles to your room, or switching out your throw blankets, and adding moody tones to your space. Don’t be afraid to mix it up by adding some greenery. For the winter months you could add wreaths to your windows, or mini trees to your centerpieces. These little finishing touches will complete each room in your home.

These are just some ways you can add warmth to your home creating a winter sanctuary in your space. Try to stick to a neutral color palette, add greenery to your space, and include natural decor elements.
